Peace & Blessings Beloved,
I pray all is well with you and yours, and that your week has been fruitful & blessed thus far.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
As we experience another day, it is my prayer that we have a proper understanding of how & why God blessed us, & how we can ensure His blessings by our lifestyle.
Psalms is Israel’s book of worship.
The Hebrew term for blessed here is ashre, which describes someone who is happy & privileged. The Wisdom literature commonly uses this term to indicate someone being fortunate. It’s Greek equivalent, makarios, is found in the Beatitudes of Jesus (Matthew 5:3-11)
In this passage, the Blessed, or the righteous, one is described as avoiding thinking, behaving like, and dealing with any manner of wickedness. He also doesn’t consort with those who dislike correction, as they never desire to learn or grow.
Instead of wickedness, the blessed individual will delight in God’s law, which is only possible by knowing His law, which is only possible by reading His word. And they will be like a tree, which is stable, well nourished, fruitful, & prosperous.
And so, in conclusion, it is my prayer that we truly understand that we need to be wise in how we exercise our free will, which God has given us out of His unconditional love for us. If we are obedient to His word, & faithful in our relationship He’ll bless us.....period!
May the joy of the Lord continue to be your strength.
Love you much, be abundantly blessed!
