Peace & Blessings Beloved,
I pray all is well with you and yours, and that your week has been fruitful & blessed thus far.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Full context (Micah 6 depicts God complaining about the behavior and disobedience of Israel, in the face of their many blessings, rescue, favor, and promise from Him. Israel’s response is to ask God what He requires of them in order for Him to be pleased with them. The above passage is God’s response to the foolish question, which He had already explained to them before)
As we experience another day, it is my prayer that we have been intentional about fighting this spiritual warfare that surrounds us daily, & that our combat has been centered in our relationship with God, knowing that He’s given us every weapon and protection we’ll ever need to be successful.
As we look at the above verse what I’d like to focus on is the word require. It is defined as the following:
1. to call on authoritatively; order or enjoin to do something
2. to ask for authoritatively or imperatively; demand.
3. to impose need or occasion for; make necessary or indispensable
4. to call for or exact as obligatory; ordain
5. to place under an obligation or necessity
With this understanding, in the context of the above verse, it is clear to see that a. that which God seems necessary, obligatory, imperative, & indispensable is always good, primarily because His nature is good, and subsequently, all that flows from Him is good.
So to do justice, love kindness, walk humbly are all good actions, ordained by our Heavenly Father, & we should delight in doing them.
Remember, justice is the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness. So we should look to think, speak, and act righteously.
Kindness is a fruit of the spirit, and is looked upon with great favor. We ought to treat people with kindness, both in word and deed.
Lastly, but certainly not least, God has already promised us that if we come before Him humbly He will exalt us in His perfect timing.
May the joy of the Lord continue to be your strength.
Love you much, be abundantly blessed!
